At TMT Learning Foundation, we are committed to empowering the next generation by addressing three critical areas in youth development: mental wellness, career exploration, and life skills development . Research shows that youth who receive early support in these areas are more likely to succeed academically, socially, and economically. In Alberta alone, studies indicate that over 60% of youth report high stress levels, and 1 in 5 youth experience a mental health challenge each year. Our programs aim to address these realities while fostering long-term success.
Stepping Stones is a week-long summer intensive that introduces Calgary teens to real-world experiences in career development, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. The program addresses the growing skills gap among youth, particularly those from underserved communities, by fostering workplace readiness and leadership capacity.
Checking In is a youth-led initiative designed to create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can openly discuss mental health and emotional well-being. Running each fall, the program brings together youth, medical professionals, and mental health experts to reduce stigma, build emotional resilience, and equip participants with tools for managing stress, anxiety, and isolation.
Together, these programs contribute to our vision of building a generation of mentally strong, socially conscious, and economically empowered youth. We aim to reach over 200 youth annually, with measurable improvements in self-confidence, goal setting, and community engagement.
By investing in the potential of Calgary’s youth, particularly those from African, Black, and immigrant backgrounds, TMT learning Foundation is shaping leaders, innovators, and change-makers equipped to thrive in today’s world and contribute meaningfully to society.
